Contractor/Construction Parking

The following parking plan was implemented to accommodate the parking needs of the contractors working on University projects or facilities. These guidelines will apply to all contractors. The University is taking this approach to contractor parking to ease the parking strain for the campus community and to make the contractor parking consistent throughout the year.

.) Parking & Transportation Services will designate a construction parking area on the northeast edge of lot 4 by signage posted in the area or on top of the Wohl Garage (Lot 59). All campus construction personnel and contractors must park in this area.

.) Parking without a permit will only be allowed inside officially fenced off construction areas.

.) Permits for yellow zones or any other area of campus not described in numbers 1 and 2 are available on an extremely limited basis. Application must be submitted in writing to Parking & Transportation Services, complete with the specific reason alternate parking arrangements are being requested by the Manager of Capital Projects or the Manager of Maintenance. All requests are subject to the approval of Parking & Transportation Services Management. The University is taking the approach that most all of the contractor parking can be accommodated in lot 4 and exceptions to this policy will be rare. Exception Application Form. (You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the Contractor Exception form).

.) All University parking rules and regulations apply in the construction-parking zone. A permit must be displayed and can be purchased through Parking & Transportation Services. Please contact Parking Services for the parking fees. Multiple months or days can be purchased.

.) Vehicles parking in zones other than the specified construction-parking zone, using the contractor permit are subject to tow without prior warning.

.) Permits are non-refundable.

.) Daily permits will not be sold to contractors at the University Bookstore. Upon identification, contractor vehicles displaying a daily or other unauthorized permit not authorized through Parking & Transportation Services are subject to tow without prior warning.

.) Contractors who display fraudulent University permits are subject to tow, fine, Facilities action, and possible criminal prosecution.

.) Any vehicle parking in "no parking" areas (inner walkway of campus, promenade, grassy areas, fire lanes, etc) without proper authorization is subject to tow without prior warning.
