Medical Campus Permit Reciprocity

Washington University in St. Louis Danforth Campus parking services and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis parking services recognize reciprocity of parking privileges on both campuses with appropriate parking permits.

On the Danforth Campus

WUSM reserved parking permits are valid in red/reserved surface spaces. Other WUSM permits, are ONLY permitted to park in the yellow / unreserved spaces in the Danforth Underground Campus (DUC) garage.

Because the DUC garage is gated, these permit holders will need to pull a ticket to gain entry and write their permit number and ID on the ticket before exiting. They will then hand the ticket to the gate attendant to exit without payment.

Danforth Campus permits cannot be sold to full-time WUSM employees or students. A physical hang-tag issued by the WUSM Parking & Transportation Office must be displayed. Medical Campus permits are not meant for full-time use at the Danforth Campus. Reciprocity is based on parking less than 20 hours on the Danforth campus.

On the North and West Campuses

WUSM permits are valid in any yellow/unreserved space at both North Campus and the surface lots at West Campus. The WUSM permit must be displayed at all times when parked on these campuses.

On the Medical Campus

Only Danforth Campus red annual permits, including the Official Business Permit, are permitted to park in any WUSM surface lot. In the Clayton Garage, the Medical Campus only recognizes Danforth Campus yellow, red, and Eliot permits. Please take a ticket when entering Clayton Garage and before leaving the garage please put your name, phone number and current permit number on the back of the ticket. Exit out through the garage attendant, show your permit, and then give the attendant your ticket.

Danforth Campus permits are not meant for full-time use at the Medical Campus. If you spend more than 20 hours during the business week on the Medical Campus, you must purchase a Medical Campus permit. This includes employees who are permanently moving from West or North Campus to the Medical Campus. These employees can secure a WUSM parking permit by contacting the FISC Desk on the first floor of the Olin Residence Hall located at 4550 Scott Ave.

Questions regarding parking at the Medical School can be directed to the FISC desk at 314-362-3100. Both the Danforth Campus and Medical Campus parking offices provide parking and contact information for the other campus to facilitate parking reciprocity for faculty, staff and students who need to park on both campuses.
