Twice each year, before winter and spring breaks, the Washington University Police Department and Office of Parking & Transportation Services, in partnership with Hartmann’s Towing, sponsor a free traveler’s vehicle inspection service to faculty, staff and students.
WashU community members who anticipate traveling by car over the break can bring their vehicle to the lower level of the Millbrook Garage between 12 and 2:30 p.m. for free inspections.
What the Inspection Includes
Staff will check tire pressure, fluid levels, wipers, headlights and taillights. Local businesses donate oil and windshield washer fluid to allow us to top off vehicles’ fluids.
“Too often we all neglect to check our vehicles before taking off on a trip,” says Chief of Police Don Strom. “This is a great, quick and easy opportunity for members of our campus community to get their vehicles inspected and help ensure they have a safe trip over the upcoming holidays.”
The WUPD Bear Patrol assists the police and parking staff in inspecting vehicles.
