Free Winter Vehicle Inspections Dec. 7 – 18
Washington University Police and Parking Services, in partnership with Woodard’s Automotive, is sponsoring a free Traveler’s Vehicle Inspection Service for WashU students, faculty and staff. The service includes a check of tire pressure, fluid levels, wipers, headlights and taillights. No appointment is necessary. Bring vehicle to:
– Woodard’s Automotive
– 7360 Forsyth (across from the MetroLink)
– 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
– Monday through Friday, Dec. 7 – Dec. 18.
A more detailed checkup, which includes a brake inspection, is also free of charge but must be scheduled by calling Woodard’s at 314-725-7558. Note that this inspection requires a vehicle to be left with Woodard for half a day. For more information, contact Sgt. Parking & Transportation Services offers vehicle storage for winter and spring breaks.
Those interested in storing a vehicle must request a storage placard from Parking and Transportation Services. All stored vehicles be parked in the designated storage area provided by the Parking and Transportation team with a valid storage placard on display.
Vehicle storage is limited to specific dates, which are strictly enforced. These include:
Extended Winter Break
Storage placards are available at Parking and Transportation Services starting Nov. 13 for storage between Nov. 20 and Jan. 24.
- Red / Yellow Annual Permit Holders (Including Undergraduate Commuter permits): $0
- Evening / ParkSmart Permit Holders: $100
- Non-Permit Holders: $200
Although WashU typically offers vehicle storage during the week of spring break, it will not be available this year due to university scheduling changes as a result of Covid-19.
Vehicle storage on campus is prohibited during the summer. For a list of vehicle storage facilities in the area that will accommodate vehicle storage during the summer months, please contact Parking Services.
At other times during the academic year, commuters may not leave a vehicle unattended on campus for more than 72 consecutive hours without the express written consent of Parking Services. In addition, campus residents may not leave a vehicle unattended on campus for a period exceeding five days without the express written consent of Parking Services.
