WashU Medical Escort Service

Operating Hours

The service operates only during the academic session, Monday through Friday. The first trip of the day is at 8 a.m., and the last request for service will be accepted at 5:20 p.m.

You must obtain pre-authorization from Disability Resources or the Habif Health & Wellness Center to use the medical escort service. To learn more or to obtain pre-authorization, please call Disability Resources at 314-935-5970, or the Habif Health & Wellness Center at 314-935-6666.

Requesting Transportation

Once authorized, call the dispatch center at 314-935-7412 to request a trip. Services are operated on a first-come, first-served basis. We will attempt to serve all passengers requesting service in a timely manner. The dispatcher will always provide you with an estimated time for the van’s arrival when you request the trip. The medical escort service does not provide transportation to or from off campus locations.

In some cases, a golf cart escort may be provided. Passengers must be able to get in and out of the golf cart independently and wheelchairs cannot be accommodated at this time. Please be aware that golf carts are not able to travel into garages for driver safety. Under special circumstances, the service will meet a passenger at his or her vehicle but most passengers who wish to use the service will be directed to the nearest pick up location.

These include:

  • Zone 1: Between the fountains and the Tisch Park
  • Zone 2: The patio outside the entrance to the DUC garage
  • Zone 3: The Knight Center entrance
  • Zone 4: The South 40 House circle drive

We do not accept reservations for golf cart services.
